Hot, Hot, Hot was the weather forecast for the Coast FA annual trip to Chapel Hill. And the heat is what we got along with great competition. Fourteen Coast FA teams rolled up this season to face some of the top clubs in North Carolina, including Triangle United, Wake FC, Charlotte Soccer Academy, North Carolina FC and NC Fusion amongst others. Coast walked away with four championships and three finalist’s awards after a tough and grueling weekend of soccer. “We expect tough competition when we play in the TUSA Classic and that’s exactly what we got. The Triangle staff do a great job running this tournament putting together good brackets, played on the best fields we’re likely to see all year. With no soccer scheduled for the upcoming Labor Day Weekend it gives our players and parents a chance to catch their breath before league play begins in two weeks” said Coast Executive Director Heyward Gulledge, who bounced between venues this weekend to watch as many Coast teams as possible.
