State Championships and promotion to the coveted Piedmont National League will be up for grabs over the next three weekends in South Carolina youth soccer. The levels of SCYSA are designed to pit similar ability level teams against one another while advancing through a series of promotions and relegations to earn their position each year. The top eight SCSCL National teams qualify for State Cup while the top six PMSL teams and all OPEN teams compete in their own state cups. The levels of youth soccer in South Carolina start with #1 Recreational, #2 Open, #3 PMSL Classic #4, SCSCL National and end at #5 Piedmont National League. Six Coast FA teams are in contention to claim the SCYS National top honors and one Coast team will participate in the OPEN Cup after superb results in their fall regular seasons.
Coast 08g Red coached by Mario Benjamin posted a 5-4--0 record in their U16 SCSCL National League regular season to finish as a #7 seed in the National State Cup. The girls travel to Augusta to face #2 seed AASC in their quarterfinal match on Saturday Dec 9 at 1pm. If we win, the girls will advance to the Final Four Weekend in Florence, South Carolina on Saturday December 16 & 17 , 2023.
Coast 07g Red coached by Gabby Smychynsky finished the U17 SCSCL National League regular season with a 5-2-3 record . The girls will qualify for State Cup as a #6 seed and must travel to face #3 seed Surf from Charleston on Sunday December 11th at 1pm. The higher seed earns the right to host the quarterfinal match. If victorious, the girls will advance to the Final Four in Florence, South Carolina on December 16 & 17, 2023.
Coast 06g Red coached by RJ Bass competed in the U18 Piedmont National League against the top teams from SC, NC and Ga where they posted a 3-3-1 fall season record. The girls qualify as a #2 seed and earned the right to host #7 seed CASC Wave from Charleston on Saturday December 9th at Stables Park with a 11am start time. A win would advance the team to Florence, South Carolina for the SCSCL Final Four on December 16 & 17, 2023.
Coast 07 Red coached by Mark Sanchez also played in the U17 Piedmont National League posting a 4-4-4 fall campaign against the top teams from SC, NC and GA. They enter as a #3 seed and also earned the right to host #6 GMFC from Greenville at Stables Park on Saturday December 9th at 1pm. A win would advance the team to Florence, South Carolina for the SCSCL Final Four on December 16 & 17, 2023.
Coast 06 Red coached by Brian Smith also played in the U18 Piedmont National League posting a 3-4-1 fall campaign against the top teams from SC, NC and GA. They will qualify for the SCSCL State Cup as a #2 seed and host CCFC from Charleston on Saturday December 9th at Stables Park with a 3pm kickoff. A win would advance the team to Florence, South Carolina for the SCSCL Final Four on December 16 & 17, 2023.
Coast 08 Red coached by Ross Morgan finished the SCSCL National League regular season with a 4-1-2 mark to qualify as the #5 seed and must travel to #4 CASA located in Clemson on Subday Dec 10th at 2pm. A win would advance the team to Florence, South Carolina for the SCSCL Final Four on December 16 & 17, 2023
Coast 08 Black coached by Rob Bramble won the U19 Open League with a 4-2-1 record in OPEN League play. The boys will enter the Open State Cup to be held in Lexington, South Carolina on Dec 2 & 3, 2023 where a champion will be crowned
