Date: Monday September 10, 2018

Coast FA returned to the beach with five championship and one finalist trophy from the Discoveries Rock Hill Classic. The teams battled two hundred seventy five teams from across the Southeast to claim their honors. Field conditions were pristine but blazing sunshine made for tough conditions throughout the event. “ To return home with five championships is a terrific result for the club and a testament to the players hard work during training ” said Coast Director of Coaching Joel Banta.

Its always a great feeling to win a tournament but when six different players find the back of the net in the process you cant help but be excited for the future. I could not be any happier with the weekend.”

Coast 04g Red (click here for photo) Coach Mark Sanchez – Champions second division U15 Girls “ It was a great tournament for my girls. They came together and played very well. To win the tournament without conceding a goal was awesome to see. It was a great way to start off the season as we prepare for league play.”

Coast 06g Red Coach Vinnie De La Cueva – Finalist top division U13 Girls “ Excellent showing for my 2006 girls on their first tournament playing 11v11 format. I could not have asked for a better effort considering my thin roster and the oppressive heat. The future is very bright for this team.”

Coast 00 Red (click here for photo)Coach Reynaldo Arambula – Champions top division U18/U19 Boys “ We got off to a rough start dropping our first match but after making a few adjustments the boys really came together. I am very proud of how hard they worked both individually and as a team.”

Coast 02 Red (click here for photo)Coach Joel Banta – Champions top division U17 Boys “ I could not be happier as a coach for these young men. They have won both preseason tournaments and I cannot wait for our Premier League schedule to begin. We had a total team effort all weekend for this event.”

Coast 03 Red (click here for photo)Coach Brian Smith – Champions second division U16 Boys “ It was a good win for my 2003 boys and a great way to start the fall season. The boys came together as a team and were able to pull it off. I am super proud and looking forward to our league play.”
